The internet, and social networking in particular has compounded the problem of being hurt by our friends. Once friendships are broken, reminders of that person can become painful. Our currently social networking tools, by virtue of their viral growth features, constantly expose us to people are are not connected with, in order to make us aware of them - thus creating more edges on the graph, however; this exposure can bring reminders of de-friended individuals or others that cause great pain. In short, avoiding reminders in the age of social networking in more difficult - but we have not created tools to help us cope with the anger and hatred this pain brings. The Forgiveness Engine seeks to do just that.
